Abodi is a real estate marketplace and trust-services platform. We do not custody money ourselves — escrow is operated through licensed Nigerian payment and banking partners, and legal review is performed by a panel of qualified Nigerian lawyers. Every regulated workflow is built with fintech compliance counsel from day one.
How is a property "verified" exactly?
Verification has three layers: (1) the agent or landlord passes ID + business + reference checks, (2) the listing's documents (C of O, deed of assignment, tenancy authority, survey plan) are reviewed by our legal panel, and (3) an inspection partner confirms the property physically exists and matches the listing. Every layer earns its own badge.
What happens if I want a refund or there's a dispute?
Funds in escrow can be refunded fully if approval conditions aren't met. If a dispute arises, our operations team reviews the audit trail (uploads, messages, timestamps), gathers evidence from both sides, and issues a decision. Unresolved disputes can be escalated to independent mediation per our terms.
Do you support diaspora buyers paying in foreign currency?
Yes. Through our regulated payment partners, diaspora buyers can fund escrow in USD, GBP, EUR, or CAD with FX conversion at the time of release. We also offer a diaspora concierge: a real person assigned to your transaction who calls you back on your time zone.
